2nd edition of Summer School on Medicines (SSM2)
The 2nd edition of "Summer School on Medicines" (SSM2) –a summer school organized jointly by the Barcelona Science Park and the Tolouse Cancer Campus in colaboration with Biocat–, will take place from August 31 through September 10 in Toulouse (France) and in Barcelona. These two cities are pioneers in pharmaceutical I+D in Southern Europe.
Nínsar Agrosciences creates a technique to naturally extend the shelf life of tomatoes
The biotech Nínsar Agrosciences, based at the Barcelona Science Park, has just launched into the market the rights to produce and distribute a new technique called ESL Extended Shelf-Life which makes it possible to extend the preservation time of tomatoes, thanks to a technology developed by the company which enables the natural introduction –by means of hybridization- of a gene that incorporates this property.
The Palo Biofarma Biotech increases its capital by 2M€
The Catalan biotech PaloBiofarma, based at the Barcelona Science Park (PCB), has closed its second round of financing by means of which it has obtained two million Euros. Half of these funds have been provided by private investors, including the Inveready Seed Capital venture capital company, based at the PCB, and the cofounders of Oryzon, Carlos Buesa and Tamara Maes, a company that is also affiliated with the PCB.
