The Mayor of Barcelona, Joan Clos, visits the PCB |

| On Tuesday 18 October, the Mayor of Barcelona, Joan Clos, accompanied by the councillor for the district of Les Corts, Montserrat Ballarin, visited the installations of the Parc Científic de Barcelona (PCB, Barcelona Science Park). The visitors were escorted by the UB rector, Màrius Rubiralta, the President of the Economics Committee of the UB Social Council, Joan Corominas, and the director of the Park, Fernando Albericio. |

The visit included a tour around the companies in the CIDEM-PCB Bioincubator, CrystaX Pharmaceuticals, Oryzon genomics and ERA Plantech. It also covered the Nantechnology Platform, as an example of the technology offer of the PCB, and the laboratory directed by the director of the Institute of Biomedical Research, Joan J. Guinovart. Furthermore, the Mayor received information on the second construction phase of the Park, which involves the development of the Pedralbes Campus. |
